2024: A Year in Review
In 2024 Trainer status was awarded to 47 new trainers with 24 on the Auxiliary Level, 6 on Associate Level and 17 completing their pathway to Full Trainer status. The global reach of the programme continues to expand with new Trainers in Training coming from Tanzania and Colombia. We also continue to support Trainers in Training in Ukraine and Russia as we work to deliver Montessori’s vision of Education for Peace.
A new series of seven Introductory modules for Trainers in Training at all levels has been launched to offer insights into aspects of training that may not be covered in the six two-week seminars conducted over three years. Contributions from volunteer trainers have provided Trainers in Training with broader insights into their future roles. The modules also fostered collaboration and understanding between Trainers and Trainers in Training.
In 2024 planning started for the next round of the Seminar Format, as part of the Pathway to Trainer. Seminar participants will work alongside other Trainers in Training, discussing Montessori principles, deepening their understanding, and learning about the cultural application of Montessori’s Core Principles. From December 2024 the Seminar Introduction Modules became a requirement for all Trainers in Training to attend before they complete their Pathway to Trainer.
The Training Group has done considerable work on defining and refining the Pathway to Trainer Handbook, in order to better serve our Trainers in Training and improve the longevity of the programme.
